Not to be confused with Osteoarthritis - caused by mechanical wear and tear on joints - Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disease in which the body's own immune system attacks the joints. It can develop at any stage in life, and is characterised by pain, heat, swelling and stiffness in small and large joints on both sides of the body.
The effects of Rheumatoid Arthritis (and it's close relatives Psoriatic Arthritis & Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis) on the feet can include severe joint deformity and risk of ulceration without early intervention with orthotics. Painful callous and corns can develop due to pressure over deformities, and help is needed with cutting nails because of pain or deformity of the hands.
Our Podiatrists can ensure you get the right treatment at the early stages of diagnosis, or help in the later stages manage and relieve callous & corns, and prevent or heal ulcers. Regular, professional foot care can keep you mobile and more comfortable, so book one of our Routine Podiatry Appointments today.

We can ensure that you receive the right treatment and advice to keep you comfortable and safe, whatever stage you're at, and advise on referral pathways for wider management of your condition. Book one of our Routine Podiatry Appointments and let us help you find comfort and peace of mind.

WRITTEN REPORT OF RISK ASSESSMENT OR PODIATRY ADVICE
If you are concerned that you have not been receiving your annual or bi-annual Diabetic, Vascular, Neuropathic or other Risk Assessment checks on time in the NHS, we can write and forward a report to your GP or other healthcare professionals based on our own tests and assessments.
Foot Health/Risk Assessment reports can also be provided for Employers if your Podiatric problems are having an impact on your working life - this may be in relation to your ability to execute your job, or perhaps because of issues related to footwear you're obliged to wear for your job.
A copy of our letter will also be provided to you. Just speak to your Podiatrist during your appointment, and your letter will be ready within 48 hours. If you are an existing patient, it may be possible to discuss your requirements by phone too.
